Our Impact

Together with our donors, we are honored to serve thousands of families each year—families who are facing some of the most difficult times in their lives.

"The impact of the Foundation on our families is truly immeasurable. Those whom we are privileged to serve are usually in the midst of medical crisis which is all consuming and far reaching in all aspects of their lives; the Foundation provides some relief and joy through many avenues."
–Dr. Julie Zimbelman, Rocky Mountain Pediatric Hematology/Oncology referring medical provider

During a child’s illness or injury, their family is often faced with worrisome medical circumstances, as well as emotional and financial burdens. Many families have great need and are frequently economically disadvantaged or are under or uninsured.

With support from the community and several partnering individuals and organizations, Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation provides services to more than 7,500 pediatric patients and their families each year.

For many of these families it means they won’t have to be apart during their child’s treatment or that their child will securely ride home in the protection of a child safety seat. It also means that many families won’t have to choose between paying their monthly rent and purchasing food for their sick child.

Throughout the year, babies in NICUs will receive precious donor human milk, children will be matched with loving companion dogs, nurses and medical support staff will participate in trainings, hundreds of pediatric patients will find comfort from our hospital dog Posey, and thousands of families will be able to focus on the well being of their sick child—all because of our generous donors.

Meet A'miree

“My dog Ace has an important place in my heart. My whole heart goes to him and the Stink Bug Project. I love him very much.” — A’miree

In July 2019, A’miree was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, a form of kidney cancer that made it hard for her to move, balance, and walk. Her one-year-old brother was undergoing open heart surgery at the same time, and the whole family just needed a pick me up. They needed a Stink Bug dog.

Meet Desiree

“I hope the donors know that any amount of help that they are giving, any donation, anything, makes such a huge difference.” — Desiree

With a family at home and her newborn baby Joe fighting for his life in a neonatal intensive care unit hours away, mom Desiree was desperately trying to balance it all. The cost of making the 9-hour round trip was beginning to take a toll, and that’s where we came in.
