Mothers' Milk Bank provides critical nutrition to infants by ensuring they have the donor human milk they need to thrive.


For 40 years, Mothers’ Milk Bank has harnessed the incredible power of donor human milk, collecting, processing, and distributing it to babies across the country.

We believe that donor human milk is the first choice for all babies anytime their parents’ own milk is unavailable. This is particularly true for premature babies and those with weakened immune systems, but we also proudly serve adoptive, surrogate, and other outpatient families who want to give their baby the best possible start in life.

As a nonprofit milk bank and member of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA), we rely on generous milk donations from new parents looking to help other families. By sharing their gift of life, these selfless donors help us provide critical nourishment to thousands of babies every year.

Impact in Action

When Will and Liam decided to greet the world 11 weeks early, their NICU team turned to donor human milk to spur their growth.

Mothers' Milk Bank has distributed over 8,000,000 ounces of donor human milk to infants since our founding.

80-90%

of our donor human milk is sent directly to neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) where it is given to fragile babies, many of whom are born prematurely. Donor human milk plays a crucial role in improving outcomes for these newborns, especially those born early.
Outpatient Milk

is also available for families who may have already come home from the hospital, but are waiting for their own milk to come in. We also work with adoptive and surrogate families who would like to use donor human milk with their little one.
Lactation Support

is provided for new and expecting parents through our Baby Café! Here, parents receive free lactation support from an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) while connecting with other parents in a comfortable environment.
Financial Assistance

is available for outpatient families who have a medical need for donor human milk. We believe the magic of donor human milk should be available for all families, regardless of their financial circumstances. Thank you to the generosity of our donors for making this possible!
