At Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation, we recognize the power behind a village and its ability to make a difference. That’s why we partner with so many amazing teams, like the social workers at Saint Joseph Hospital—Liz, Sharita, Carolyn, Julie, Megan, Lakeisha, and Brittany. When a family needs our support, social workers are there to tell us how we can help. We couldn’t do what we do without them. We’re so grateful for our partnership with this team and are excited to share more about them.
Q: Tell us a little bit about your job. What does a day in the life of a social worker look like?
A: We work with women and infants and cover the NICU and postpartum units at Saint Joseph Hospital. We all specialize in maternal mental health and substance use disorders. We meet with pregnant and postpartum moms and their families daily to provide support and resources.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: We enjoy working with a diverse population of patients and families. Each day poses a new challenge, but that is also something we enjoy.
Q: What inspired you to do the work that you do?
A: We all love helping people! It is inspiring to do something that creates change in another person’s life.
Q: What role does Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation play in your work?
A: RMCHF plays a significant role in the daily work we do. The generosity of the foundation provides our families stability and security during the most challenging times.
Q: How has working with the Foundation impacted you and the work you do?
A: RMCHF is an additional resource we can utilize to provide for our families. The foundation and its community of supporters make our difficult job easier.
