Arvada, CO — March 2026 – From March 15-31, 2026, Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation (RMCHF) invites the community to take part in a special stuffed toy drive, featuring a friendly competition between the Arvada Fire Department and the Arvada Police Department. All toys collected will be distributed to children receiving support through RMCHF’s programs.
Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation is specifically requesting stuffed toy donations because these items provide emotional comfort to children facing illness, long hospital stays, or difficult treatments.
“Sometimes, when children are battling serious illness, what they need most is something soft to hold onto,” said Cathy Sandoval, Executive Director of Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation. “A simple stuffed toy can bring comfort, security, and a sense of normalcy during a very challenging time. We are incredibly grateful to the Arvada Fire and Police Departments and to our community for coming together to support these children.”
How to Help:
Community members are encouraged to donate new and unused stuffed toys (“stuffies”) for children receiving care in the hospital.
On March 25, 2026, from 6:45-10:00am, the Arvada Fire and Police Departments will be on-site at Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation with a fire truck and police van to help collect stuffed animals. Bring by new stuffed toys for a chance to meet first responders and see why these toys make a difference.
Donations can also be dropped off at the following locations from March 15-31st:
- Arvada Fire Station – 7903 Allison Way, Arvada, CO 80005 (main fire station)
- Arvada Police Department – 8101 Ralston Rd, Arvada, CO 80002
- Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation – 5394 Marshall Street, Suite 400, Arvada, CO 80002
At each drop-off location, donors can choose which team to support — Team Fire or Team Police — adding some friendly competition while bringing comfort to children receiving treatment or in the hospital.
