Did you know that Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation is the parent organization of Mothers’ Milk Bank, one of the largest human milk banks in North America? Through this program, we work with generous parents to collect and process donated human milk that then helps feed extra fragile babies in hospitals and NICUs.
This month is National Breastfeeding Month, and thanks to a proclamation by Governor Jared Polis, it’s now officially Colorado Breastfeeding Month too!
To celebrate, we are spreading awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding and taking an opportunity to recognize the importance of human milk donation. Human milk is critical to helping all babies thrive, especially those who are premature and medically fragile. It provides vital nutrients and can quite literally save lives. When a parent’s milk is unavailable, donor human milk can make a life-saving difference for babies.
We always say that human milk is magic, and we are proud to support babies nationwide by helping them get the nutrition they need to grow and thrive.

Every day, babies are born who need donor human milk to thrive, so there is always a need for donor human milk and, by extension, always a need for new milk donors. Your support is crucial in ensuring that we can continue to provide this life-saving resource to those in need.
